Welcome to Merriam Cherry Street Elementary, home of the Cheetahs! It is truly an honor to serve as principal of this special school nestled in the heart of The Cove, where we proudly serve students and families from Pre-K through fifth grade.

Merriam Cherry Street Elementary is more than a neighborhood school; it is a close-knit community built on strong relationships and a shared commitment to student success. Our experienced and dedicated teachers provide high-quality, standards-aligned instruction in literacy, math, science, and social studies, while also personalizing learning through targeted interventions and enrichment opportunities. We believe a strong academic foundation has the power to positively shape the trajectory of our students’ lives, and we take that responsibility to heart.

Our success is supported by an elaborate network of families, faculty, staff, community volunteers, and mentors who work together to help every child reach their full potential as both a learner and a leader. Character education and social-emotional learning are woven into our daily practices, fostering kindness, responsibility, and a sense of belonging in a safe and inclusive environment.

Students at Merriam Cherry Street enjoy enriching opportunities such as hands-on STEAM activities, music, and physical education, along with comprehensive support services for students with special needs and English learners.

I strongly believe in the power of public education and in the importance of partnership. I encourage parents and community members to be actively involved in our educational journey as we continue building on our success together. I invite you to visit our campus and see firsthand how Merriam Cherry Street Elementary inspires lifelong learning, builds strong character, and celebrates the strengths of every child.

Warm regards,
