How You Can Help Your Child Prepare
âś… Practice at Home
Visit https://flfast.org/families.html to review sample test items and released tests with your student.
âś… Avoid Scheduling Appointments
Keep testing days clear—no doctor's appointments, haircuts, or other commitments that could interrupt your child's focus.
âś… Ensure Your Child is Well-Rested
A good night's sleep before each test makes a real difference! Aim for 8-10 hours.
âś… Discuss Testing Policies
Review the testing rules with your child, especially:
No electronic devices (phones, smartwatches, smart glasses) are allowed during testing or breaks
Students must work independently and protect their answers
Test content is confidential—they can share their experience with you but not specific test questions
âś… Keep Them Healthy
If your child isn't feeling well on testing day, it's okay to wait for a makeup day rather than test while sick.
âś… Encourage a Growth Mindset
Remind your child that testing is a chance to show what they've learned. Effort and doing their best is what matters most!
